His best time in the 200m is 19.31 seconds, making him the fastest American of all time and the third-fastest sprinter in history. Noah Lyles Early career

As a high school junior, Noah represented the USA at the 2014 Youth Olympics and won a gold medal in the 200m. He also cleared 2.03m in the high jump. In 2015, Track and Field News named him High School Boys Athlete of the Year. In 2016, he won the 200m at the New Balance Nationals Indoor and both the 100m and 200m at the Arcadia Invitational.

In June 2016, he won the USA Junior Championships 100m race in 10.08 seconds. He competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials but did not advance past the first round. Later, he won gold in the 100m and 4x100m relay at the World U20 Championships.
