Belinda Marie Macadengdeng Batumbakal, born in the Philippines in 1997, was raised by her grandmother in the slums until she was three years old. She was adopted by an American military officer and a Filipino mother. Porch and her adoptive brother suffered physical and emotional abuse during childhood.

They lived on a farm with her adoptive parents and three siblings. Porch took over farm responsibilities at the age of seven. At the age of thirteen, her family moved to San Francisco to live with her aunt before moving to Texas for her father’s bypass surgery. Porch’s family still lives in the Philippines.

In 2019, Bella Poarch married Tyler Poarch. In November 2022, she filed for divorce from him. In October 2023, the divorce was finalized. She revealed that she was sexually assaulted in August 2021. As anti-Asian hate crimes became more reported, she took to social media to show her support for the Asian-American community.

After relocating to the United States from the Philippines, she also spoke about her experiences with Vogue, claiming that she was “treated differently” and “randomly attacked and chased” by Asian teenagers.
