Marsai Martin Biography (Introduction): Caila Marsai Martin was born on August 14, 2004. She is an American actress and producer, best known for playing Diane Johnson on the ABC show Black-ish from 2014 to 2022. In 2019, she starred in and helped produce the funny film Little, becoming the youngest person ever to produce a studio film. That same year, Time magazine placed her on their “Time 100 Next” list. In 2022, she produced and starred in the sports comedy Fantasy Football.

Martin was born in Plano, Texas, to her mother Carol, and father Joshua Martin. Her acting journey began after a fateful photo shoot. The photographer offered her parents a deal: a discount if her father promised to send the photos to talent agencies.

She sent the photos to four places, and one signed her immediately. When she was five, Martin got her first big commercial for Choice Hotels. In 2013, her family moved to Los Angeles so she could pursue her acting dreams.

In 2014, Martin got the role of Diane Johnson in Black-ish. She plays the daughter of Andre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross). The show was created by Kenya Barris.
