Lonnie Chavis Biography (Introduction): Lonnie Chavis Jr. was born on November 23, 2007. He is an American teen actor and activist. Most people know him as young Randall Pearson from the NBC show This Is Us. Chavis has been nominated for several awards and has also won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance in a Drama along with his This Is Us friends. In 2017, he was on Showtime’s funny show White Famous, which did not last long. Then in 2020, he got his first big film role in The Water Man.

Chavis was born on November 23, 2007, in Downey, California. His mother’s name is Najah and his father’s name is Lonnie Chavis. He has three younger brothers. In 2016, when he was just 8 years old, he made the news after he was almost caught by strangers while throwing trash outside his home in Long Beach, California.

He fought them off and ran to a neighbor, who drove him back to his mother. She had already called the police. Since 2017, he has been home-schooled.

Television career

In 2016, Chavis began playing the role of young Randall Pearson on This Is Us, whose grown-up form is played by Sterling K. Brown. In early 2017, he appeared as a guest on his favorite Nickelodeon show, The Thundermans. Later that year, he appeared in an episode of Supergirl on The CW.

In June 2017, he was cast in the lead role for Season 2 of This Is Us. He also starred alongside Jay Pharoah in White Famous, a funny show created by Jamie Foxx. Chavis said this was his first attempt at improv comedy.

Chavis made his film debut in Disney’s Magic Camp alongside Adam DeVine. He also appeared in Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History, as well as in a short film called Skin, which won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short at the 91st Academy Awards. In 2018, he was in Sunny Days, created by Jason Wiles.

In 2019, he starred in The Water Man alongside David Oyelowo, Rosario Dawson, and Oprah Winfrey. He said that Oyelowo helped him become better at acting. In 2020, he was in a horror film called The Boy Behind the Door, created by David Charbonier and Justin Powell.

In June 2018, Chavis put a video on Instagram about children making fun of the gap between his teeth. He asked if he could fix his heart instead, explaining how bad words hurt – some fans even said that this drives people to extremes. The video received over 600,000 views, and friends and celebrities shared it with the hashtag #FixYourHeart.

In October 2018, he teamed up with the Ad Council to launch an anti-bullying campaign in 2020, in which he talked about owning up to his mistakes and practicing good behavior. In 2021, he created a clothing line for which he models. Following the murder of George Floyd and the public protests that followed, Chavis wrote a letter to his mother about the racism he faces in America. People magazine published it on June 17, 2020.
