Candace Hill Biography (Introduction): Candace Katherine Hill was born on February 11, 1999. As an American track and field athlete, she specializes in the 100- and 200-meter races. She graduated from Rockdale County High School. She became the first female high school athlete to break the 11-second mark in the 100-meter sprint by running 10.98 seconds at the Brooks PR Invitational in Shoreline, Washington, on June 21, 2015. This duration is considered a world youth best for athletes under the age of 18.

It did not qualify as a high school record because it was not set within an NFHS-sanctioned season. She became just the second sophomore to win the Gatorade National Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year title, after Marion Jones. In 2015, she was also named “High School Athlete of the Year” by Track and Field News.

Candace Hill International Achievement

Hill qualified for the 2015 World Youth Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia after winning the Youth Qualification Championships in Lisle, Illinois on July 1, 2015. She set a championship record of 11.08 seconds there while winning the 100-meter world title. A few days later, she won the 200-meter race with a personal best time of 22.43 seconds, completing a sprint double.

Candace Hill signed a 10-year contract with ASICS on December 17, 2015, marking her transition from collegiate athletics to the professional ranks. After a four-month hiatus from training, she won the 100-meter (11.24 seconds) and 200-meter (22.76 seconds) USA Junior Championships in 2016.
