Caleb McLaughlin Biography (Introduction): Born October 13, 2001, Caleb Reginald McLaughlin is an American actor who gained international recognition for his portrayal of Lucas Sinclair in the Netflix series Stranger Things (2016–present). After playing Young Simba in the Broadway production of The Lion King, he played minor roles on television.

He appeared in drama films such as High Flying Bird (2019) and Concrete Cowboy (2020), the latter of which was his first lead role in a feature film following his success with Stranger Things. In addition, he voiced characters in several television shows and starred in the 2017 miniseries The New Edition Story.

At the Glimmerglass Opera House in Cooperstown, New York, McLaughlin made his acting debut in the opera Lost in the Stars. It was his big break when he was cast as Young Simba in Broadway’s The Lion King (2012–2014). Later, he appeared as a guest on television shows such as Shades of Blue, Unforgettable, Forever, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and What Would You Do?.

When McLaughlin landed the role of Lucas Sinclair in Netflix’s Stranger Things in 2016, his career took off. He was nominated for a BET YoungStars Award in 2017 and won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth in 2018 as a result of his performance.

He co-starred with Jharrel Jerome and Idris Elba in his first feature film Concrete Cowboy, released in 2020. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film showcased McLaughlin’s versatility in playing nuanced roles. He was included in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Class of 2021 that same year.

It was revealed in January 2024 that McLaughlin would co-star with 21 Savage and Donald Glover in a biopic about the younger Savage. Although he suggested this might eventually happen, Savage revealed later that month that the announcement was a parody.
